Brett Martin rooflights inject new life into the prestigious Emirates Stadium.

A total of 7,827 square meters of Marlon CS and Marlon FSX polycarbonate sheets were installed to refurbish the entire roof of the Emirates Stadium, the 10th largest stadium in England. Home to Arsenal Football Club, this iconic venue on Hornsey Road in London accommodates over 60,000 fans each week during the football season.

Brett Martin were delighted to continue working with the leading building envelope specialist, TSL on this roof refurbishment project. The material was used due to its exceptional strength, impact resistance, and weathering durability, combined with high optical clarity and light transmission. The rooflights, which cover and illuminate a large section of the stadium, provide 88% transmission of diffused natural light.

The incorporation of the lightweight rooflight materials play a vital role in the design of sports stadiums, allowing natural daylight to illuminate the pitch. This is essential for promoting healthy grass growth and maintaining a visually appealing playing surface. The diffused daylight from the Marlon corrugated sheets also enhances the appearance and atmosphere for spectators, creating a brighter and more enjoyable environment to comfortably watch the match. Plus, while floodlight is essential for many sports venues, minimising reliance on artificial lighting can also positively impact the site’s energy bill.
